Professor Kriebel has been involved in martial arts his entire life. He began his journey in Tae-Kwon-Do, where he quickly excelled in competition by winning multiple state championships. In high school he began focusing more on wrestling where he was a 2 time state placer and Walsh Ironman All-American in folkstyle. These merits earned him a scholarship to Kent State University, where he competed in international freestyle wrestling until an injury ended his wrestling career. This is where professor Kriebel found Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has allowed him to continue his journey in martial arts and his competitive career. He was promoted to black in 2013 by Eduardo "Dudu" Barros under Team Nova Uniao.
